Technique · Device-based Mechanical roller-suction device

Endermologie (LPG).

Endermologie is the brand name for a patented mechanical roller-and-suction treatment from the French company LPG. It combines two motorized rollers with a vacuum chamber to manipulate subcutaneous tissue. It is not manual lymphatic drainage and is not a medical treatment, but it has a genuine clinical literature for cellulite reduction and body contouring.

Also known as: LPG Cellu M6, endermolift, endermologie lipomassage
35–50 min session $80–160 per session
I. The technology in plain terms

The LPG device has a small handheld treatment head containing two rollers and a controlled suction chamber. The rollers knead the subcutaneous tissue while the suction lifts the skin and underlying fat layer, mechanically manipulating adipose tissue and fascia. This is classified as a mechanical massage device, not a medical device, and operates at pressures significantly higher than MLD.

II. Where endermologie is actually useful

Cellulite reduction, body contouring (with measurable but modest results), post-liposuction fibrosis management (where the mechanical action can help break down early fibrotic tissue), and as a wellness modality for general skin firming. It is not a weight-loss treatment, despite marketing claims, and it is not a substitute for MLD in post-surgical drainage protocols.

III. How often and how many sessions

A typical cellulite course is ten to fifteen sessions over six to eight weeks, followed by monthly maintenance. Results are best maintained with ongoing sessions; discontinuing treatment usually sees gradual return of baseline within six to twelve months. Post-lipo fibrosis protocols are shorter — three to six sessions in the four-to-eight-week window post-op.

IV. What to expect during a session

35 to 50 minutes, typically performed through a thin bodysuit to reduce friction. The sensation is intense but not painful — most patients describe it as a 'deep pinching' massage. Mild bruising is possible, especially in the first few sessions, and is not a red flag. Significant or persistent bruising is.

V. What you pay and why

$80 to $160 per 35-minute session at most US aesthetic clinics, €45 to €90 in Europe. Packages of ten to fifteen sessions are standard, typically priced $900 to $2,000. Endermologie is LPG-proprietary — only clinics with an LPG Cellu M6 or M6 Alliance device can offer the real treatment. Other 'roller suction' devices exist and may be similar in principle, but they are not endermologie.

VI. What The Editors would ask

Which LPG device do you operate, and when was it last serviced? How many sessions do you typically recommend for my goal? What maintenance schedule do you recommend afterward? Do you combine endermologie with MLD, and if so, in what order?
